According to the available statistics, the mean GMAT total score for all test-takers is 574. Top business programs around the world require very high GMAT scores. ...Thanks so much for you help! The 80 point improvement was fabulous! I wished I had hit the 700 mark, but 680 is around the 90% mark, so it should be okay......The Manhattan Review course not only focuses students upon solving complicated quantitative and verbal problems, but also prepares students for a range of cognitive failures that the GMAT exploits and few books address...

Meet a Beijing GMAT Tutor: Ben L.
Ben L. grew up in Toronto and never imagined living anywhere else. He and his parents took frequent vacations, but Ben always enjoyed coming home where everything was familiar. "Looking back at how much I disliked change as a kid, it's amazing the turns my life took," Ben laughs. Ben describes himself as a rather shy child who enjoyed learning and found great company in textbooks, especially books about math and finances. "Numbers always made sense to me, and they were often easier to understand than certain people," Ben recalls, "which is probably why I felt so comfortable with them." Ben obtained his undergraduate degree in finance from New York University, which was close enough to his family that he could still visit but far enough away "to make me feel like I was doing something on my own," smiles Ben. Ben knew he wanted to obtain an MBA after graduating from New York University, and he also knew that being as prepared as possible for the GMAT would require some outside assistance.
Ben signed up for group prep courses with a New York branch of Manhattan Review, grateful for professional guidance and support while preparing for such an important exam. "I knew it would be helpful to have a syllabus to follow to make sure I was focusing on the right test-related topics," shares Ben. Ben took his prep courses very seriously and did his own diligent preparation work in addition to group courses. When it came time to take the GMAT, Ben was confident in his test-taking knowledge and abilities and obtained an impressive score that ultimately resulted in numerous acceptance offers to leading business programs. Ben chose to stay in the New York area and completed his MBA at Columbia University. After graduating at the top of his class, Ben was offered several positions at various companies, and he surprised his family by accepting a position at a leading telecommunications company in Beijing. "I just felt like it was the right time to try something new," he remembers. "Numbers are a type of universal language, and I was excited to see where my career would take me."
While holding an impressive financial consulting position, Ben began to receive requests from interns preparing for the GMAT on the best ways to study or the most effective ways to prepare for the exam. Ben had done quite a bit of tutoring during his undergraduate education, taking on clients with math-related needs referred to him by friends or through his position at his school's learning center, and he always enjoyed teaching others. In Beijing, he once again began to take on tutoring clients, helping students identify their own areas of test-related strengths and weaknesses. Eventually Ben found a home at Manhattan Review, where he shares his love of learning with future company leaders and entrepreneurs. Ben's students appreciate his firsthand experience with the GMAT, as well as his ability to break down even the most challenging test-related concepts. Ben's students have gone on to receive highly impressive GMAT scores, allowing them to begin their own rewarding professional journeys. When he isn't instructing the next generation of leaders, Ben can be found hiking the Jiankou or Jinshanling sections of the Great Wall, enjoying fine rice wine with friends, and working on his photography skills in the temples and palaces around the city.
