To get the most out of their legal education, prospective law students must engage in some long-term thinking before applying. When selecting programs to target, it is vitally important to know how well those institutions perform in placing their graduates in legal jobs. Fortunately, the American Bar Association requires all of its accredited law schools to publish these statistics, which are called "Employment Summary Reports." At some institutions, a large number of alumni are unable to find employment as lawyers. Charleston School of Law, for example, notes that just 57% of its most recent graduating class had secured jobs that require bar passage within nine months of completing their JD programs. By contrast, every single graduate of Yale Law School (100%) in the most recent year for which data are available had been hired in a full-time, long-term position requiring passage of the bar exam within the same timeframe. One reason that LSAT prep produces such a strong return on investment is the fact that the schools expecting the highest LSAT scores are also the programs that give their graduates the most favorable employment prospects.

Rhoda Z. completed her undergraduate studies in marketing at the University of Florida, and then earned a JD at Washington University in St. Louis's School of Law. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, she has been living in Palo Alto since 2014, and has carved out a dual career as an LSAT educator and legal editor/researcher. She has a total of 12 years of experience teaching the LSAT, mostly in the Bay Area.
Students have credited Rhoda's LSAT instruction with easing their acceptances to highly selective law schools, including several in the Ivy League. Many of her LSAT clients have achieved LSAT scores in the top 5% of all test-takers. "I never would have gotten a 172 on the LSAT without Rhoda's help," said one recent client as she prepared to begin her JD studies at a prestigious institution.
