If you are looking to open important doors as you begin your legal career, start by obtaining a high LSAT score, which will allow you to attend the law school of your choice. The LSAT is purposefully designed to assess the skills required for the first year of law school. These skills include reading comprehension, reasoning, and writing. LSAT scores fall in a range between 120 to 180, with the median score being approximately 152. A median score, however, will not be enough to secure acceptance to a top-tier law school, and competitive scores generally fall in the 160s to 170s. The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) is the organization responsible for the administration of the LSAT, and they regularly track and report statistical information about those who take the test, analyzing their information as a whole while also dividing test-takers into subgroups. According to the LSAC, among the most respected law schools, successful applicants have an LSAT score in the 170s. In order to be competitive for the highest-ranking law schools, it is necessary to do well on the LSAT. We at Manhattan Review can help you master all sections of the test, improving your reading comprehension and reasoning abilities while also strengthening your critical writing skills.

Our test preparation services are for students attending or recently graduated from university undergraduate programs, as well as professionals established in their respective fields looking to improve their skills and take their career to the next level or in a completely different direction. Our courses are offered at different times to best suit your needs, and you can be certain there is a daytime, evening, weekend, or online course that will fit your schedule and help you prepare for the LSAT in a tried-and-true way. Those who work with Manhattan Review consistently obtain the highest scores on this challenging exam and are regularly admitted to the best law schools around the world, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Cambridge University, Yale University, Oxford University, the University of California at Berkeley, Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas at Austin, Georgetown University, Cornell University, New York University, Princeton University, and elsewhere.

Meet a Flushing LSAT Tutor: Ellie F.

Ellie grew up in Forest Hills and visited her grandparents regularly in Flushing. "I can't imagine living anywhere other than here," she grins. "Any time I leave, I'm already counting down to when I can come home." As a child and well into her teens, Ellie spent a great deal of time in various synagogue-related activities. "My faith is a huge part of who I am," she shares, "and I've experienced religious discrimination more times than I care to remember." From an early age, Ellie knew she wanted to fight for others who had been discriminated against or subjected to unfair workplace treatment over their religious faith, leading her to consider a career in law. "From the time I was old enough to know what a lawyer was, I knew I wanted to be one," she remembers.

Ellie worked hard in high school, and her diligence earned her admission to Syracuse University, where she graduated four years later with a bachelor's degree in political science. Knowing she wanted to get into the best law school possible, Ellie participated in Manhattan Review's classroom-style group courses, learning alongside others who, like her, wanted to make a difference in the world of law. "My instructor was so knowledgeable," she remembers. "She answered all of our questions and really broke down the complexities of the test. I was so prepared, nothing was a surprise when I took the real test." Ellie's hard work paid off, and thanks to a top percentile LSAT score, she had her pick of prestigious law schools. Ultimately, she decided to attend Columbia University School of Law. "I'll never forget the look on my parents' faces when I gave them each a Columbia University sweatshirt," she shares. "They were so proud, and I think also relieved…as long as I had a good education behind me, I could do anything."

While establishing herself in a community-focused legal practice, Ellie found she missed the sense of comradery she'd felt while attending tutoring sessions. She also found herself unofficially serving as a career counselor and advisor to interns and junior members of the staff. "I'd come so far and done so much, but I realized I didn't have to be arguing in a court room to help make a difference," she says. "I'd figured out what worked for me in developing a career, and I wanted to help others figure things out for their lives, as well." Ellie began working as a tutor in the Queens area, establishing herself as a thoughtful planner with an innate skill at explaining things in a way that made them stick. When an opening presented itself at Manhattan Review, we were thrilled to add Ellie to our team, and her students couldn't be happier or more prepared for the LSAT. When she isn't changing lives in one way or another, Ellie can be found attending young adult events at her synagogue, biking through the park while doing her best to avoid the joggers, and working on her pottery skills at her cousin's studio.
