Meet a Dayton ACT Tutor: Astrid M.
Astrid M. was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and lived there for the first twelve years of her life until her mother was offered an exciting job opportunity in Arizona. An advanced reader from an early age, Astrid loved books and read everything she could get her hands on. Astrid dreamed of establishing herself as a professional editor, but she knew such a career would start with obtaining the best undergraduate education possible. Astrid participated in a classroom-style group prep course, and her hard work was rewarded with an impressively high ACT score. Astrid chose to attend Vanderbilt University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in English and worked part-time as an essay tutor in the learning center. She then completed a master's degree in education at Syracuse University before accepting a position with a well-known publishing house.
When Astrid's husband accepted a new job in Dayton, she was able to continue her editorial work while also offering online writing workshops for high school students seeking to prepare for college entrance exams. Wanting to work more directly with students, Astrid soon joined the team at Manhattan Review, and students consistently praise her knowledge and patience, filling up her courses almost as soon as they are announced. When she isn't guiding future college students to their own test-taking success, Astrid can be found browsing local bookstores and hosting visiting family members from overseas.
