The College Board, which owns and administers the SAT, regularly publishes statistics on test-taker performance. According to the most recent report, which was based on the last three years of testing, the median composite score (calculated from the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math sections) for all students who took the test during this period was about 1050. Approximately one-third of all test-takers scored 1150 or above, and scores of 1300, 1400, and 1500 were in the 86th, 94th, and 98th percentiles, respectively. Students seeking admission to highly selective universities must typically produce scores of at least 1400, and in some cases, average scores are even higher. At Yale University, for instance, about 90% of all students received Math scores of 700 or higher and approximately 93% scored 700 or higher on Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. Students interested in admission to Yale should therefore consider a 1400 composite score to be the bare minimum necessary for serious consideration of admission.
Manhattan Review's SAT prep courses and private tutoring plans regularly facilitate admission to highly selective undergraduate programs. Our test prep clients in Warsaw and other cities have been accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard, the California Institute of Technology, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, Brown, the University of California-Berkeley, Harvey Mudd College, Washington University in St. Louis, Yale, the University of Texas-Austin, the University of Michigan, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Columbia, Duke, Cornell, the University of Chicago, and many more. Meet a Warsaw SAT Tutor: Gregor F.
Gregor F., who was born and raised in Warsaw, completed his university education entirely at highly ranked schools in the United States. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Cornell University and a Master of Education from the University of Virginia. He spent five years as a high school math teacher in the Washington, DC suburbs, where he got his start as an SAT tutor in 2010.
Gregor returned to his home city of Warsaw in 2016 and joined Manhattan Review as a teacher of SAT prep courses and private tutoring plans in both on-site and online formats. His instruction has produced hundreds of high SAT scores and acceptances to elite schools such as Harvard, Stanford, and the University of California-Los Angeles. He also continues to teach math at the secondary level, serving on the faculty of a school in the Warsaw area.
