Meet a Santiago ACT Tutor: Laura D.

Laura D. was born in Bergen, Norway, and lived there for the first thirteen years of her life until her mother was offered an exciting job opportunity in Georgia. An advanced reader from an early age, Laura loved books and read everything she could get her hands on. Laura dreamed of a career as a professional editor, and she knew such an important position would start with obtaining the best education possible. After participating in a classroom-style prep course, Laura obtained a very high score on the ACT, earning numerous offers of admission to colleges across the United States. She chose to attend Emory University, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in English with a minor in education. After obtaining a master's degree in English from Auburn University, Laura accepted a position with a respected publishing house.

When Laura's wife was offered a job in Santiago, she was excited to relocate, since she could work from anywhere as long as she had her laptop. After settling in, Laura sought out ways to use her knowledge of writing and grammar to help local students excel on standardized tests, allowing them to enjoy the academic success she had experienced. Laura soon joined the team at Manhattan Review, where students constantly praise her positive attitude and precise instruction. When she isn't guiding future college students to test-taking success, Laura can be found browsing local bookstores and hosting visiting family members from Norway.
