Meet a Ho Chi Minh City ACT Tutor: Leah D.
Leah D. was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and lived there for the first twelve years of her life until her mother was offered an exciting job opportunity in North Carolina. An advanced reader from an early age, Leah loved books and never left the house without one. As a teen, Leah decided to pursue a career as a professional editor, and she knew such a career would start with obtaining the best education possible. After participating in a group prep course, Leah scored in the 98th percentile on the ACT, earning numerous offers of admission to colleges across the United States. She chose to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in English with a minor in education. After obtaining a master's degree in English from Farleigh Dickinson University, Leah accepted a position with a New York-based publishing house.
When Leah's wife was offered a job in Ho Chi Minh City, she was thrilled with the idea of moving, since she could work from anywhere if she had her laptop. After settling into her new home, Leah sought out ways to use her knowledge of writing and grammar to help local students excel on standardized tests, allowing them to enjoy the academic success she herself had experienced. It wasn't long until Leah joined the team at Manhattan Review, where students constantly praise her insightful instruction. When she isn't guiding future college students to test-taking success, Leah can be found browsing local bookstores and hosting visiting family members from Germany.
