Meet a Ghent ACT Tutor: Jeffrey W.

Jeffrey W. was born and raised in Montreal and developed a passion for writing at a young age. He hoped to one day become a professional writer, as well as an educator, helping others share their own stories. He was determined to obtain the best undergraduate education possible, so he worked very hard in high school, achieving high grades and being an active member of the speech and debate team. He also participated in a virtual ACT prep course, and his diligence was rewarded with a stellar test score. Jeffrey chose to attend McGill University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in English and worked for four semesters as an English and language arts tutor. He then completed a master's degree in education at Emory University before accepting a position as a creative writing teacher at a charter school in Atlanta.

Over the next few years, Jeffrey balanced teaching with writing articles for respected magazines and newspapers. When his wife was offered a job promotion that would require the couple to relocate to Ghent, Jeffrey hoped to find a way to continue teaching and working with students. He soon joined the team at Manhattan Review as an instructor, and students rave about his extensive writing and grammar skills, as well as his positive personality and effective study techniques. When he isn't guiding future college students to their own test-taking success, Jeffrey can be found reading in local bookstores and working on his first novel.
