Meet a Champaign ACT Tutor: Connie P.
Connie P. was born in London and lived there for the first twelve years of her life until her mother was offered an exciting job opportunity in Chicago. Connie discovered a love of books at an early age and read everything she could get her hands on. She hoped to one day establish herself as a professional editor, but she knew such an important position would require her to obtain the best undergraduate education possible. To prepare for the ACT, Connie participated in a classroom-style group prep course, and her hard work was rewarded with an impressively high score. Connie chose to attend the University of Chicago, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in English. She enjoyed the parttime work she did as a tutor in the learning center so much that she went on to complete a master's degree in education at Northeastern University before accepting a position with a respected publishing house.
When Connie's husband accepted a new job in Champaign, she was excited to relocate, and she soon began offering online workshops for high school students seeking to prepare for college entrance exams, in addition to her continuing her editorial work. It wasn't long before Connie joined the team at Manhattan Review, and students consistently praise the supportive learning environment she creates, as well as her patience, and her courses fill up almost as soon as they are announced. When she isn't guiding future college students to their own test-taking success, Connie can be found visiting local bookstores and attending book readings with her husband.
