TOEFL Prep Course Hong Kong - Photo of Student Virginia

I highly recommend Manhattan Review's TOEFL preparation course for anybody interested in taking the exam. I took an intensive course and took the exam only after 4 weeks of classes, and got a 116 score. The teaching method is excellent. It focuses on techniques and strategies that allow students to understand exactly what is required to succeed on examination day. Tutors are very flexible and willing to adapt to the student's schedule, as well as reachable and always ready to help and follow up on whatever the student might need.

Meet a Hong Kong TOEFL Tutor: Yan Lin H.

Yan Lin graduated from Yale with a B.A. in International Economics and Spanish along with an already growing roster of tutoring gigs. Perhaps her unique ability to grasp language arts skills made tutoring such an obvious role for her. Or, it could be owed to her contagious sense of humor and solid teaching skills. As part of her undergraduate program, Yan Lin went overseas to teach English as a second language. In Spain, she was a live-in tutor for a semester, where she taught English to the family's four children. They all brought home better grades, which delighted their parents.

Yan Lin credits her highly competitive TOEFL results to her love of dabbling in foreign languages. She explains that all the Romance languages have the same roots, and by being fluent in Spanish and French, she has learned how to figure out the meanings of innumerable English-language derivatives as well. This elastic knowledge of language helps Yan Lin not only expand her vocabularies in several languages but also effectively communicate with her class. Yan Lin is also a serious movie buff, especially foreign films, citing Bollywood films and French films as her favorites.
