Why Manhattan Review is the Best MCAT Prep Option Available

Manhattan Review is an international education company that has helped thousands of students achieve impressive scores on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). We are a firm that offers MCAT programs and tutoring in dozens of countries all over the world, and our MCAT teaching has eased the path to medical school for students from almost every conceivable academic and cultural background. Our flexible MCAT offerings may be taken in group course or individual tutoring formats, both on-site or online, and we also provide a number of ancillary services (such as MCAT practice tests). Past Manhattan Review MCAT clients have graduated from the best medical schools in the United States, including Harvard, Johns Hopkins University, the Perelman School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania, the Grossman School of Medicine at New York University, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, and many of our former MCAT students are now successful doctors practicing in every area of the medical profession.

In contrast to the MCAT instruction offered by other companies, Manhattan Review's MCAT teaching is designed to precisely accommodate the individual learning requirements of our students. We have the knowledge base and breadth of teaching experience that one would expect from a global firm, but we also have a strong understanding of every locality in which we operate. The Manhattan Review teams in all of the North American, South American, European, Asian, and African cities we serve have tailored their test prep instruction to the needs of local students. Just as importantly, we believe in the pedagogical philosophy of differentiation, which is based on the idea of reaching students in a group with various ability levels in ways that each can most effectively learn. Rigorous student and teacher assessments help us implement proven teaching strategies that maximize each student's potential.

Best MCAT Instructors in the Industry

Because we realize that the success of our MCAT programs is dependent on the skills, talents, and credentials of our teachers, Manhattan Review goes to great lengths to select the best possible candidates. Some companies are satisfied with elite test scores only; for us this is a necessary but not sufficient precondition. While we do hire MCAT teachers who scored in the top 1%, we also consider many other professional and personal factors. Successful applicants for our MCAT teaching positions are graduates of top universities and highly selective medical schools. They also have years of relevant teaching experience, appealing styles of instruction, and friendly personalities. All new teachers are comprehensively trained in Manhattan Review's methods and materials to ensure that they are thoroughly prepared to help our students achieve all of their goals for the MCAT and for medical college admission.

Manhattan Review History

Manhattan Review was founded in New York City in 1999 by Joern Meissner, who was then pursuing his PhD at Columbia Business School. While serving as an instructor for various business courses, Meissner developed a reputation among his students for having a unique ability to explain complicated issues in accessible ways. Some of these students suggested that he apply this approach to instruction for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), the entrance exam for graduate business degree offerings. Meissner created a series of GMAT lectures that would evolve into Manhattan Review's first test prep offerings, which would immediately become popular with students in the New York City area.

In the years since, Manhattan Review has grown into an international educational services firm, with branches in major North American, European, Asian, and Australian cities. Our offerings have grown to include prep courses and private tutoring for a variety of admissions tests, including the MCAT, in addition to admissions consulting and application advisory services.
