Meet a Washington DC Tutor: John A.

John went to high school in Williamsburg, Virginia, and then graduated from the Catholic University of America with a degree in Architecture. He loved this experience so much that he continued his studies to secure his Master of Architecture, also at Catholic University, two years later. He opened his own small business, focused on visual effects, graphic design, and other services for entertainment promotion. In addition to running his small business, he works at Living Social as a Lead User Experience Front-end designer. Plus, in his spare time, he is a guitarist and keyboardist for his band, Juniper. John's top scores helped him accelerate this fast track for professional growth.

This successful student now works with Manhattan Review to impart his savvy study techniques and standardized test prep smarts. Having gone to school in DC, John is knowledgeable about the area, particularly the arena of local higher learning. He and his wife live in Georgetown and just welcomed their first child, a baby boy named after his father. John has a solid understanding of SAT, GRE, and GMAT exams. He keeps up with the practice tests along with his students to stay as up-to-date as possible as he offers his test prep. John has been tutoring since his high school days, and he is equally capable of leading lively discussion and working one-on-one to help students conquer challenges. John loves playing gigs in his band, his favorite venue being IOTA Club and Café in Arlington, Virginia. He also tries to balance his work and tutoring obligations with spending time with his family.
