We are unique among test prep companies in our focus on the test prep needs of international students. Most companies simply offer their American instruction overseas, but we have specifically designed our SAT prep courses and private tutoring plans to help international test-takers overcome the inherent cultural biases typically associated with standardized tests. Although most universities are extremely secretive about the role of standardized testing in their admission procedures, the advantages of elite test scores are well documented. Prospective students can easily see this for themselves by reviewing the average test scores at the most highly ranked institutions. Harvard University, for example, reports that 75% of its admitted students received total SAT scores of 1470 or higher, and 25% achieved composite SAT scores of 1570 or above. The middle-50% SAT total score range for students accepted to the University of Virginia is 1330-1500. Some schools report the SAT score ranges for students admitted to certain undergraduate programs. At the University of Washington, the middle-50% SAT total score ranges for engineering (1400-1530) and computer science (1420-1560) exceed that of the overall student population (1240-1440). These statistics show that selective schools place a very high premium on standardized test scores, whether they admit it or not. Manhattan Review is committed to helping our clients meet the SAT expectations of these institutions.

Meet a Brussels SAT Tutor: Owen P.

Owen P. grew up in a small town near Omaha, Nebraska. He was a distinguished student in high school, and he was offered scholarships to several selective institutions. He chose to complete his undergraduate degree in education at the University of Missouri, and he then earned a master's degree in education at Rice University. He joined our Brussels team of SAT educators in 2016 after a five-year career as an SAT tutor and high school teacher in Houston.

Owen regularly receives high praise from his students for his focus on engagement and his ability to implement SAT skill improvements. "Owen was able to make SAT class both fun and productive, which I didn't expect," said one recent SAT client. "He's just a great teacher," said another. Owen continues to work as an educator at the secondary level, serving on the faculty of an international school in Brussels. He is a married father of four young children.
