Meet a Hartford TOEFL Tutor: Jeanette D.

Before moving to Hartford, Jeanette spent most of her life living in Buffalo, New York, where she was born and raised. After graduating from high school at the top of her class, Jeanette did what anyone in her position would and that is venture out of her hometown and found a school that would give her the necessary foundation that she needed to become college professor that had envisioned being one day. While there are plenty of great schools in New York, Jeanette sought the comfort of Hartford, Connecticut, specifically the University of Hartford to study English as well as rhetoric and professional writing, ultimately double majoring in both studies. After a few jaunts of assistant and adjunct professor teaching positions locally and becoming an established professional writer, Jeanette began looking for opportunities to give back to the people of her new hometown. She found that in Manhattan Review.

Since becoming a professional tutor with Manhattan Review nearly five years ago, Jeanette has been pivotal in implementing our world-class test prep strategies in an effort to aid students in achieving their personal testing goals. And though Jeanette is eager to lay the foundation so that her students ultimately master the English language, she also provides a good balance of encouraging the students to think for themselves and not be afraid to employ a strategy that may in fact be beneficial to their own unique learning style. Our students at Manhattan Review also love that Jeanette is so approachable and will often stay longer than she is expected to ensure that her students are on track and progressing as they should in order to first master the English language, and secondly meet their individual testing goals so that they may achieve great academic and professional success in Hartford. We feel the same way and that's why we love having Jeanette as part of our team.
