Meet a Sydney TOEFL Tutor: John Michael G.

John Michael holds a double degree from the University of Texas in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Business. Well-rounded as a wordsmith, John Michael has focused on University entrance tests like SAT and TOEFL as he's cultivated experience as a test prep tutor. He tutored in Texas for seven years before incorporating an international perspective. An opportunity at a Tuition Centre brought Mitchell to Sydney, where he has served as a tutor for the past four years. He scored 750 (98th percentile) on his SAT Critical Reading, 800 (99th percentile) in SAT Math, 700 (96th percentile) in SAT writing for a total score of 2250/2400, propelling him into the top 98th percentile of test takers overall. John Michael, always a straight "A" student, had similar results when he took the SAT II and the GMAT. On his TOEFL iBT, the student scored 110/120, 5/6 for TWE.

John Michael, or J.M., as he has his students call him, becomes the best friend of his students because he is available, accessible, and in-tune to individual needs. While he is friendly and personable, he also has a professional approach that gets the job done. He is naturally articulate, with a grasp of the English language that helps his students master their own reading, writing, and comprehension skills. He often uses actual media examples and current events to gain the interest of his class. So don't be surprised if J.M. brings in a copy of the Sydney Morning Herald or the Daily Telegraph to complete his less traditional techniques to accomplish his lesson plans successfully. All his methods are reinforced with the proven resources and test prep materials provided by Manhattan Review. In his spare time, J.M. loves spending time at the Royal Botanic Gardens and Manly Scenic Walkway, among others.
