Online Courses – Technical Tips
Tips on Getting Prepared for Our Online Courses
We would like to add a few more tips to make your sign-on experience as smooth as possible. These tips are applicable to either real-time participation or post-class viewing. You are NOT required to have a headset. You can just listen through your speakers openly and type in your comments to instructors via Chat. If you have paid, we hope you have received a full set of our Turbocharge Your GMAT course books and a brand new Plantronics .Audio 310 multimedia headset, which will allow you to talk to instructors and fellow students during classes. If not, they are on the way to you! Before the session, it is preferred to reboot your computer and close all running applications and just open a new browser. (Don’t multi-task!) If you want, before the course, you can clean up your PC by going to the Start Menu, Accessories, System Tool, use Disk Cleanup and Disk Fragmenter to tidy up your computer. This will improve your computer performance. For MAC, just make sure you delete all the unnecessary files on your hard drives, including those temporary files. For Windows users, make sure your cookie in Internet Explorer is enabled. (You may not need Administrator privilege to install Active X. In other words, you may be able to access the meeting from your work computer with no issues.) If you register for Free Online Info Session, you will receive an automated confirmation email. Follow the instructions in the confirmation emails to log into the course. You can also register for our Interactive Online Global Courses! To evaluate your first session of our online course for FREE, please email us in advance at online[at]manhattanreview[dot]com. To join without advanced registration, follow the instructions in 5 below. Please use the SAME email address on your invitation so that the system can identify you. You need to enter the Session Password. It should be in your invitation email. Or you would like to participate without advance registration, please visit our WebEx online classroom and click on the online session you would like to join. Find Host’s Email Address and email BOTH the host AND online@manhattanreview.com. You will then receive an email confirmation of your registration along with password. (Make sure you type lower and upper cases correctly!) Once you log on, you will go through a process to install ActiveX or Java client program on your computer. It takes about 2-3 minutes. You will then be asked to set up your microphone and speakerphone via Audio Setup Wizard. If you don’t have a headset, please do NOT worry about it. You can just listen through your speakers and type in your comments via Chat. Please make sure that your Volume Control in Windows is NOT on mute so that you can talk in the microphone if it is passed to you by the host. Adjust your Volume Control to make it proper. You can press Ask for Mic to request for the microphone. If for some reason other people can not hear you, you may not have set up your Audio Setup Wizard properly. Please click on Communications, Intergrated VoiP, Leave this conference, and then you will be disconnected from the VoiP session. Then come back and click on Communications, Integrated VoiP, Join this Conference. The Audio Setup Wizard will pop up again for you to adjust all the setup. If for any reasons, you get disconnected, just log back on. The session should still be on as long as the host is still there. If the session is accidentally disconnected, just wait for a new notification email to invite you to join again. The recorded sessions are standardized with the instructors' best sessions in the past and are available on our WebEx online classroom. Select Recorded Sessions on the left, enter the password, then you can review it. All recorded sessions will be available for viewing for 2 weeks or longer.
Enjoy and learn more! Please email us at online[at]manhattanreview[dot]com to tell us know any feedback.

Thanks so much to David Chambers for his excellent guidance in preparing for GMAT. I am absolutely delighted with my score of 710 especially given that I only began preparing for the test five weeks ago. Both Manhattan Review and David himself have been excellent in helping me make the most of my time to achieve the best results I could have hoped for. -David (This student took our London GMAT Internsive course and used our tutoring services.)
