Harvard Business School 2+2 – Admissions Tips

Started in 2008, the Harvard Business School (“HBS”) 2+2 Program has offered innovative college juniors the opportunity to apply for deferred admission to the HBS MBA program. Prior to enrollment, accepted students will gain two years work experience at the hands of a Harvard affiliate employer. To prepare students for the workforce, HBS hosts a summer program where each admit is allotted a career coach and begins to build a foundation for professional growth. The following summer students will return to HBS for a more intensive leadership training session. Students will then gain one more year of professional experience before returning to HBS to utilize their newfound knowledge in the classroom.

Typical Applicants

The program is geared towards developing the leadership skills of individuals whose aspirations don’t fit the traditional corporate career mold. Academic fields and areas of interest may include art, activism, and engineering. While the goals of each applicant may vastly differ, all should maintain academic excellence and express a desire to make a difference in a specific field. Thanks a lot for your thorough support throughout the application process! I just got HBS offer. Without your help, I probably wouldn’t have been able to turn around the application package over the last 2-3 weeks while working full time.
