Default Sloan query

MIT has the most phenomenal reputation in Mexico, but the reviews are less hot with Sloan, it's bschool. Sloan is more like HBS or Stanford or it is more like Chicago and UCLA with reference to prestige?

Thx

TetsuroN,

Keep in mind that prestige isn't the only thing to consider when applying to business schools. You need to be sure you find programs that fit your interests.

That being said, people tend to group Sloan with the second tier of elite busiciness schools along with Tuck, Kellogg and Chicago rather than the first tier, which would included HBS, Wharton and Stanford.

You might call Manhattan Review if you haven't already. They have a guy there named Tom who does some great information sessions and has advised students on getting into competitive business schools for many years. Maybe he can help?

Good luck!

I agree with Bobotalk, but I think it's also important to keep in mind the huge number of opportunities that Sloan students are privy to given the ease with which they can cross-register and take classes at Harvard, HBS and JFK. Also, Sloan students have access to MIT's world-class econ department that houses some of the most decorated professors in the field.

As a side note, I was reading recently that an internal study at Mckinsey, one of the biggest recruiters of big-name b-school grads, found that Sloan students perform better than those of any other school.
