Default Test Center conditions

On test day, the testing center environment varied from one extreme to the other; dressing in layers helped. Noise from outside construction and other exam candidates was alleviated by obtaining a tissue from the administrator (to put in my ears).

We're always amazed at the variance of conditions testing center to testing center. Among the helpful tips that we give our students is to buy a bag of foam ear plugs before the test. You should try them out during your practice in order to become acclimated to wearing them. We also advise to take a pair to the center in case they have run out or fail to provide them. While earplugs are not on the prohibited items list, you should always ask if you can use them beforehand to avoid problems.

Default Excellent Video on Test Centers

GMAC posted a very well made video on test center conditions and test day registration process.

Please visit:
YouTube - GMAT Test Center - A Guide to Success when taking the GMAT

Other videos of GMAC were not really informative. However this particular one should be watched by all the prospective test takers.
