Dear Sirs,
I still can't solve the following problem even the solution isn't fully clear to me:

x+2
x-6 = 3
4

not sure, if this is readable for anyone else.

But maybe you can have a look into the book and explain it in simple steps.

I'm assuming that the

numerator: x+2
denominator: (x-6)/4

X=-26

Here's the steps.

(x+2)/{(x-6)/4}=3. When dividing by fractions multiply by the inverse of {(x-6)/4}

(x+2)* {4/(x-6)}=3

Multiply both sides by the (x-6)

(x+2)*4=3(x-6).

I'm assuming you can solve from there. Let's see what Kevin says.
