Somehow I keeping getting the inference questions wrong. How should I approach these? Thanks.

These can be tricky. First of all you need to understand what an inference is.
The question “What can you infer?” asks you to move only a small beyond the information you are given. If you know that for example, the Yankees are a New York baseball team, can you infer that all New Yorkers are fans of the Yankees? No. “All” would be extreme. You actually can not even infer that most New Yorkers are Yankee fans. But you could infer that many New Yorkers may be Yankee fans. Thus it is especially important to be careful not to be misled by extreme answers.
So think, what might this statement suggest, but don’t you move too far beyond what is actually stated.
