If the speed of x meters per second is equivalent to the speed of y kilometers per hour, what is y in terms of x? (1 kilometer = 1,000 meters).

A. 5x/18
B. 6x/5
C. 18x/5
D. 60x
E. 3,600,000x

I thought the answer would be y=x(1000/1)(60/1)(60/1). Or E.

Formal answer is C. How do I get to C- I'm not missing something here...

Thank you! A

lets say X in terms of Y

So in 3600 secs distance travelled is Y Kms
therefore in 1 sec distance is Y Kms /3600
which is same as Y x 1000 mtrs/3600 sec

this is like YKm/hr x 5/18 = answere in X mtrs/sec

now do the same for vice versa

u will end up with 18X/5

X m/s=Y km/h = Y 1000 m / 3600 s = Y 1000/3600 m/s = Y 8/15 m/s

So, X m/s= 8/15 Y m/s

Or Y m/s = 15X/8 m/s

C is correct
