Hi all,
I've been working on my English for years and am wondering if anyone can help me with basic strategy for the test. I mean, what are some easy techniques I can use to improve my TOEFL score?
Thanks!

One of the most important strategies I’ve used have been to simply be upbeat and self-confident.
This alone boosts your score. You don’t worry too much about difficult to decipher bits of passages or lectures and are more able to see the broader picture.

One strategy, especially useful of the TOEFL Listening and Reading sections, is POE, or process of elimination. It is a method that allows you to narrow down the possible answer choices by eliminating those that are unlikely to be correct. Though each individual question type has a specific method of POE that we recommend that you use, certain rules apply for all question types. 1) Eliminate answer choices that are out of scope (off the subject matter), 2) Eliminate answer choices that use extreme language or a tone that does not match the passage/lecture. 3) Eliminate answer choices that are too general or too vague.
Employing POE, increases your score by increasing the probability that you select the right answer even when you do not fully understand a question or a passage/lecture.
