Courses & Services – Overview

A few years ago, we at Manhattan Review were faced with the same important decision you are facing now - how to best prepare
for the GMAT and the business school application process. We had ambitions to apply to Ph.D. and MBA programs at the world's top
business schools and our 99th percentile GMAT scores were an important component in our acceptance into various Ivy League business
school programs. Over the years, we have grown to include three major groups of services:
GMAT & TOEFL Courses
Shortly after our enrollment, we began to write the very first lecture notes for a GMAT preparation course of our own.
We had learned during our own preparation process that the study materials available to us did not contain all the strategies
necessary for test takers seeking outstanding scores. We had also recognized the dissatisfaction with one-size-fits-all GMAT
prep courses and the need for high quality test preparation tailored for busy professionals.
Unlike those of all other test prep companies in the United States, Manhattan Review's courses originated in the classrooms
of Ivy League business schools. When Dr. Meissner
was conducting review sessions of Decision Models at Columbia Business School,
an overwhelming number of interested students packed one of the largest classrooms in Uris Hall. From there,
Dr. Meissner,
along with our other founding team members, has transferred his teaching expertise and brought continued popularity and success
to Manhattan Review's GMAT preparation courses.
Over the years, our team has expanded and revised the original lectures to reflect the evolving nature of the GMAT.
We firmly believe that our course contains one of the best combinations of preparation material and methods of any GMAT prep
course in the world.
Meantime, many students all over the world inquired about taking TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) courses with
us. As the new TOEFL-iBT has been rolled out in all major countries from September 2005, we now also offer our unique TOEFL
courses –in-person in New York, London & many selected international cities and online real-time.
MBA Admissions & Support
After all of us had been successfully accepted by top business schools, some of us worked with admissions offices and have
stayed active in interviewing prospective students, providing peer advice, and reviewing resumes. Through our essay review
experience and in-depth admissions knowledge on various areas, including wait lists, less competitive GMAT scores,
and the situations faced by younger or older applicants and international students, we have successfully helped those who
sought our advice achieve their admission goals.
Career Training Courses
We have recognized that after students have been accepted by the business school of their choice, some of them continue to
feel the need for pre-MBA preparation. Our experience has also shown us that a few years after students graduate from business
school, some of them also feel the need to perfect their grasp of advanced mathematical concepts, their finance/accounting
knowledge and their communication skills. To continue to support students pre and post their MBA study, Manhattan Review
has also developed a series of Career Training courses to address their particular needs.
